The work of Swedish artist,  Hilma af Klint turned the art world upside down when it was discovered that her paintings pre-dated by at least 20 years, other known artists that were credited with being the first abstract artists. The 12 page package includes a bio, facts about her life, teacher resources and two lessons: A Mixed Media Oil Pastel Painting, and a  Mixed Media Print. Printouts guides are also included that reflect her organic shapes and style. My students are K-4th, but the lessons are not age specific so they are applicable to older students as well.
